Coastal startup community still NEW after almost a decade
Jim Roberts is the founder of Network for Entrepreneurs in Wilmington (NC) NEW, a vibrant organization that supports startups in Coastal Carolina.
Roberts started the organization almost 10 years ago and has seen the Wilmington community of entrepreneurs grow over the last decade.
“In 2024, Wilmington is now ranked the number one ecosystem in the world for small cities under 300,000,” he said. “It’s been a lot of hard work on a day-to-day basis to educate entrepreneurs.”
Roberts also has a newsletter available on LinkedIn “Startups in Wilmington, NC,” that shares startup stories and his point of view on what it takes to succeed as a startup.
Three Wilmington-based startups have been named Top Tech Startups to Watch by the North Carolina Technology Association – Artemis Immersive, Lumos Technologies and Nuream.
